NPIB Enrollment

Current eighth-grade students interested in joining the Niwot Pre-IB (NPIB) for the 2026-2027 academic school year are expected to complete and submit the Pre-IB Intent to Enroll Form (Class of 2030) by January 9, 2026, to initiate the NPIB enrollment process. The link to the form will be activated below after the NPIB informational meeting, which will be held at our school on December 4, 2025
(6:30 – 8 PM). The presentation from this meeting will also be posted below after the meeting. Successfully submitted forms will be acknowledged via email by the Head of the IB DP Program at Niwot HS, Dr. Elzbieta Wozniak-Towlen (towlen_elzbieta@svvsd.org).

Intent to Enroll in NPIB forms submitted after January 9, 2026, will be processed on a rolling basis.

Prospective NPIB students currently not attending any of the St.Vrain Valley middle schools submit their academic records (including middle school transcripts, attendance records, and standardized test scores) to towlen_elzbieta@svvsd.org.

Students and families residing outside of Niwot High School’s attendance area are required to submit an Open Enrollment Application between December 1, 2025, and December 15, 2025, to be considered for NPIB.

NPIB/Honors courses at Niwot High School are typically taken by 9th— and 10th-grade students who plan to pursue the advanced course pathways offered in grades 11 and 12. These advanced pathways include the IB Diploma Programme or any combination of AP (Advanced Placement) and IB (International Baccalaureate) courses.

Students enrolled in the NPIB course sequence in anticipation of participation in the IB DP in grades 11 and 12 engage in the following NPIB courses and requirements in grades 9 and 10: 

  1. NPIB/Honors English in grades 9th and 10th.
  2. NPIB/Honors World Language (French or Spanish). Since the IB Diploma requires Language Acquisition (Language B), NPIB students who plan to undertake the IB DP and exceed NPIB Level 2 as incoming Freshmen must register for the new World Language.
  3. World Geography/History Honors in 9th grade and NPIB/Honors US History in 10th grade.
  4. Biology Honors in 9th grade and NPIB/Honors Chemistry in 10th grade
  5. Math course(s) appropriate to students’ readiness (Algebra 2 must be completed before the start of 11th grade for enrollment in the IB Diploma Programme).
  6. Fifty hours of unpaid community service in grades 9 and 10.
