Can you help us?
WHO: Niwot High School Education Foundation
WHAT: Spring fundraising online auction
WHEN: May 5-11, 2019
WHY: Help cover costs for college preparation for students that might not otherwise be able to afford it – including AP and IB exam fees, SAT preparatory course costs, college application fees, and college visits.
Can you help us? Please consider donating a gift certificate or merchandise to the Niwot High School Education Foundation for its 2019 spring auction. One of Niwot High School’s key goals is to prepare students for college through International Baccalaureate (IB) and Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Students who score high enough on the exams for these courses can start college at a higher level, which can save thousands of dollars in college tuition. However, the exams are expensive ($94/AP and $119/IB), and fee reductions and waivers are very limited. We started the “Adopt-a-Cougar” initiative in 2018 to help pay for exams. As a result of generous donations to our 2018 auction, fees were paid for over 40 exams, exams that likely would not have been taken otherwise. This year, we plan to expand the initiative to cover other college-related costs including application fees, college visit costs, and fees for SAT preparatory courses. The NHS Counseling Department administers the funds and assigns to qualified students.
We would love your support of our high school and our amazing students. The generosity and cohesion of the community are what makes Niwot so special – please join us! NHSEF will be promoting the auction to all of our 1,200 students and their parents by email and spreading the news of the auction on Facebook, Twitter, our website and the auction site.
