Hey Niwot Parents,
Prom 2019 is fast approaching!! Prom is scheduled for Saturday, May 4th from 8:00-11:00 pm at the Mile High Stadium in Denver. Because prom is taking place in Denver this year, we are not recommending that students drive themselves. As an alternative, we are offering optional charter buses to transport students to and from the venue. The buses will leave at 7:30 pm and arrive around 11:45 pm to The Wild Game, which is the location for after prom. Niwot Boosters will host after prom from 11:30 pm - 2:00 am. The bus tickets are an additional $10 on top of the $50 prom ticket price. Both the bus tickets and the prom tickets can be purchased during both lunches in the commons from now until Friday, May 3rd. Tickets can also be purchased by parents from Michelle Baker in the main office.
For those interested in the charter buses, there will be free parking for students at The Wild Game where they can leave their car for the duration of prom and/or after prom. Additionally, those who ride will have to check in with a chaperone on the bus so that the chaperone may keep track of attendance. On each bus there will always be one to two chaperones present. Lastly, charter bus tickets are first-come, first-serve as we have a limited number of seats, so make sure to buy your tickets soon!
For those students that are not interested in the charter buses, we recommend that they have another adult drive them to and from prom. This could come in the form of an Uber, limousine, parent, public transportation, or any other option.
In addition, students will searched before being allowed to enter the prom venue by members of our security team or Denver Police Officers. In order to maximize safety, students will only be allowed to bring a small bag/purse into the venue that is subject to being searched at any time. Lastly, no outside food or drink will be allowed in the venue as there will be free snacks and refreshments available.
Lastly, we are looking for parents to chaperone the dance and/or the buses. If you would like to sign up to chaperone please click here.
As always, we appreciate the support of parents and we look forward to a great prom!
