Cathy Carter

Time at NHS: Cathy joined NHS in fall 2012 and has taught Algebra I, Algebra II, Algebra II Honors, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Statistics, and AP Statistics.
Education: Cathy has her B.S. in Mathematics, B.S. in Computer Science, her teaching certificate, and her M.A. in Teaching and Curriculum from Michigan State University. Currently Cathy is in the home stretch of writing her dissertation to finish her Ed.D. in Education and School Reform from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) with a Secondary Mathematics focus and a minor in Statistical Research Methods.
Extra Stuff: Cathy teaches several Professional Development (PD) classes for St. Vrain (mostly math), and is also currently involved with a team at UNC developing meaningful mathematics PD for Elementary teachers. So far we've developed a PD on Multi-digit Multiplication, Fractions, and are working on a PD for Place Value.
