Spanish for Spanish Speakers A/B

This language course is for students who have a strong foundation in Spanish. Spanish for Spanish Speakers develops Spanish speakers in an academic setting to prepare students to continue their coursework in either Spanish 4 or AP Spanish. Students will focus on in-depth reading comprehension and writing in a variety of literary formats while building vocabulary acquisition with a strong focus on grammar progression. Throughout the year, students will talk about important topics that affect them, their society, and world events. Some of the themes discussed will include literary works, the media, the migrant experience, and their role in the community. To aid those students preparing for the IB Spanish SL Exam, all students will be expected to give oral presentations, write in-class journals and papers, and read literature--all in Spanish. This class will be conducted in Spanish.
