Science Fiction

What if…? Explore alternate worlds through speculative fiction. This course will examine the literature of science fiction and fantasy, from Jules Verne and H.G. Wells through The Hobbit and The Hunger Games. Through novels, stories, and film students will study how authors have interpreted Western culture and values by inventing their own societies. And in writing creatively, students will discover the techniques of science fiction and fantasy.
