IB Mathematics SL is a standard level IB course and caters to students who already possess sound mathematical knowledge. Topics include families of functions and their graphs, sequences and series, binomial theorem, trigonometry, introductory complex numbers, probability and statistics, and integral calculus. In addition, an extended mathematical investigation will be required. The difference between this program and IB Math Studies is the mathematical content. Students may take the IB Mathematics SL exam at the conclusion of this course. This course serves as the prerequisite first of two years of the IB Mathematics HL program.
