Applied Money Management

This course will examine the basic personal finance needs of most individuals and businesses. The course emphasizes the basics of credit, budgeting and buying, saving and borrowing of money, the intricacies of home ownership, income tax, investments, and retirement. The goal will be for students to understand basic economic and financial principles in order to make wise economic decisions related to their personal business matters. Students will be working closely with Elevations Credit Union, Junior Achievement, Wells Fargo, and NEFE (National Endowment for Financial Education) to learn about financial literacy. In addition, students will participate in The Stock Market Experience Competition. Field Trip: Students will go to Denver University to participate in the Stock Market Challenge.
